Getting help with your investments can be tricky – you’ve worked hard for your money, and want to make sure it’s in the best hands. For this reason, we wanted to introduce you to our Client Success team, who help you with your day-to-day SmartWealth transactions, share market insights, and support you on your investment journey.

This team has a wealth of experience, knowledge, and dedication to helping people just like you. You can trust them to put your best interests first and keep you on the right track. In this article, we highlight Maiss Al-Alami, an integral member of our team, as she shares her experiences with SmartWealth over the past few years.

Maiss, can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at SmartWealth?

I’ve been with SmartWealth since 2018, and was one of the first people to join the team. Currently, I work as a senior officer of the Client Success team.

One part of this role is fulfilling our clients’ investment requests, such as onboarding new clients, processing incoming transactions and deposits, and developing the reports our clients receive about their investments.

The most important part of my job is building relationships with our clients. I regularly speak with them to help them understand more about how their investments are performing, along with sharing updates about what’s happening in the market and how it affects their investments. I also guide our clients on how to make the most out of investing with SmartWealth over time, in a way that aligns with their lifestyles and works towards their goals. We constantly share investment best practices with our clients in order to help them get the best possible results in the long term.

What do you like most about working with SmartWealth?

SmartWealth has constantly evolved since its inception. I love how dedicated the whole team is to making it as easy to use as possible for our clients and finding ways for them to benefit even more from the investing experience.

It’s always fulfilling to be part of a team that focuses on innovation and growth, and I’ve seen so much of that from SmartWealth over the years especially through the introduction of new features, investment options, and more that keep my job exciting.

The Client Success team also continues to grow. Each person has unique strengths and backgrounds that, when combined, create a strong, clear approach that helps us deliver the best experience to our clients.

You’ve mentioned that you focus on giving clients advice and guidance – how do you approach this?

We have very long term relationships with our clients. We’ve been working to provide them with insights and advice about their investments, some of them for years so far, which has helped them focus on their goals and grow over time.

Our main approach is to understand that every client is unique, with different needs, preferences, and objectives. To adapt to this, our advice is customized to each client, just like the investment plan they’re invested in.

Furthermore, transparency is very important to us. We ensure our clients always know how their investments are doing and what’s happening in the world to impact those results. We also make sure to share credible and supported facts about investing and the markets with our clients, which is enabled by our access to financial advice and updates from experts at NBK Capital.

Finally, what is one piece of financial advice you live by?

Focus on why you decided to start investing in the first place. It may not be easy to stick to your investments or any sort of financial plan for a long time, especially when you see markets going up and down or hear things in the news.

The best way to keep your emotions under control is to regularly remind yourself of what your goals are. Whether it’s saving up for your family, retirement, a rainy-day fund, or something else, remember that the purpose of investing in general is to help you work towards a more secure future.
